Environmental Assessment Field Guides

Screenshot showing the field guide

The field guide is a tool for environmental health professionals to use when doing environmental assessments during foodborne outbreak investigations.

In these field guides, users will be able to identify a pathogen of concern and find its associated field focus, identify risk factors and interventions as identified by the field focus, and consider control or investigation measures to use during an outbreak. Included are a general environmental assessment field guide, a molluscan shellfish field guide for use in shellfish-related outbreaks, and instructions for using both field guides. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Washington State Department of Health for sharing these resources.
